How to Measure Your Windows

Accurate measurements ensure a perfect fit. Use a steel tape measure and record to the nearest 1/8 inch. Measure every window individually — even if they look the same size. When you build your order, name each item (e.g. "Kitchen — Sink Window") so you know exactly where each shade goes.

Inside Mount (Recommended)

The shade fits inside the window frame for a clean, built-in look. Requires adequate frame depth (typically 1½"–3" depending on product).

Inside mount measuring guide — width at top, middle, and bottom (W1–W3); height on left, center, and right (H1–H3); recess depth (R) and casing width (C)
Measure width at three points (use the narrowest) and height at three points (use the longest). Check recess depth (R) and casing (C) for clearance.

Width

Measure inside the frame at the top, middle, and bottom. Record the narrowest width. We will apply standard deductions for clearance.

Height

Measure inside the frame on the left, center, and right. Record the longest height for full coverage.

Outside Mount

The shade mounts on the wall or trim above the window — ideal for shallow frames or maximum light blocking.

Outside mount measuring guide — total covered width (W) including side overlap; height (H) from headrail mount to bottom; overhead clearance (O)
Measure the full width and height you want covered — not just the glass opening. Add 2–4" beyond the frame on each side and mount the headrail 2–4" above the opening.

Width

Measure the width you want covered. Add 2–4 inches beyond the frame on each side for better light seal (4–8" total beyond frame width).

Height

Measure from where the headrail will mount (typically 2–4" above the frame) down to where you want the shade to end — sill, frame bottom, or floor.

Motorized Drapery Tracks

Measure the total span from the left stack position to the right stack position. Measure curtain height from track to floor (or desired hem). Note wall vs. ceiling mount preference.

Honeycomb Recessed Mount

Recessed installation sits flush within the frame. Confirm clearance for the selected mechanism and note any handles, cranks, or locks that may interfere. We’ll confirm final hardware clearance with your quote.

Product Size & Track Notes

Roller / Zebra / Roman

Available sizes depend on fabric and the selected AOK AM25 motor option. We confirm final production dimensions on your quote.

Honeycomb

Available in 25 mm and 38 mm cells. Single- and double-shaft options reach up to 3 m wide depending on the control; double-shaft bead-chain systems are limited to 1.8 m wide.

Dream Curtains

Manual tracks have a 1 m minimum charge. Electric Q1/Q2 tracks have a 3 m minimum charge.

Curtain Tracks

Measure stack-back clearance and the full finished track span. Long or oversized tracks may require a longer delivery window.
